Installation Instructions:, Take the stock wood mount and draw 2 lines going through the existing mounting holes to form an X. This is shown in the attached photos., Included:, 1 - Penguin Base Tube and SSS Motor Plate, 4 motor screws, 4 motor plate screws, 4 base tube screws., Notes:, The stock thrust angles are retained in all 4 positions. If a change in thrust angle is desired, simply add a small washer between the motor base and motor plate at the appropriate locations., Acceptable bolt patterns (units in mm):, 19x19,
This two piece mount is CNC machined from billet aluminum. It is designed to adapt a large range of 35mm and 42mm diameter outrunner motors to the Finwing
Universeye Penguin
. It will allow for four different motor mounting heights to accommodate propeller sizes up to 13" in diameter.
With this setup you can easily run a lower KV motor with a larger propeller for more thrust and better efficiency. This would be a perfect combination for FPV pilots looking for longer flight times and a more quiet platform.
Swapping motors from a 35mm outrunner with a 9" prop to a 42mm outrunner with a 12" prop can easily be done by removing a few screws. There are a large number of motor / propeller combinations possible with this setup. This is ideal for those looking to achieve the best performance possible for their FPV platform.
Line up new Motor Base Tube onto the wood mount so that the lines cross through the 4 holes of the new mount. Mark these 4 new hole locations.
Using a small drill bit, you can pre-drill these 4 marked holes, or you can use the provided screws to tap right into the wood.
Install wood base into model, and install small foam piece over the back of the nacelle.
Slip new Motor Base tube into the nacelle, and attach to wood piece with the 4 supplied wood screws.
Attach Motor Plate to Motor Base Tube at desired height with suppled pan head screws.
