I have 2 of these and have had to machine the motor adaptor down to fit correctly into both 70mm and 64mm EDF units. The motors run well but there is no listing of spare parts especiaslly as they are an SK3 motor this is a bad piont. Fitted to the 8 blade 64mm fan unit which is rated at 1.5kg, on S4 the motor runs within paramitters and the fan produces in excess of the stated 1.5kg thrust being close to 2kg. This is good as the motor is not that light.

First, HK change the box cover. The box says SUPER EDF 70mm, wrong. This motor in its current format is only suited to 5 blade EDF 70mm units. The word SUPER would emply that it will work on any 70mm unit with no problems, try it on the 10 blade and see what happens. They do work on this unit but on S4 you have to reduce the throttle down to about 75pcnt to stay close to motor maximums. This motor otherwise is very good in all aspects. To improve the motor would be to get it produced to 1100 to 1300 watts at 55amps to handle the 10 blade fan unit, none of your motors at present are good enough for this fan unit. Also as mentioned in a previous review, the motor mount extention is 7mm short to suit most 70mm fan housings.

2 CROWNS, This is because HK dont help their customers with IMPORTANT information. I Have 2 of these motors which i will review after i have them MOUNTED, which is the PROBLEM. I have 3 diferent types of 70mm fans that came from HK and these units are TOO short to fit straight in. 3 different fans and housings and each motor enclosure is 10mm deeper then the motor mount extention. I suspect the 70mm fan they are surgesting as a combo is the same as it's housing matches one of mine. Motor review to follow after modification of fan housings.

Nice concept, nice motor, but..... With new C/S 10 blade fan can pull only 880g thrust on 4s 3300 40C; at 63a. Guess it's too much fan for the motor. Tried 5s and found Magic Smoke within 5 seconds. Best to keep this one on a 4 to 6 blade fan and 4s max.

FINALLY you got there. A 36 WITH SUPPORT 28. NOW THAT GO TO MAKE A 2600KV 6S AND RESISTANT TO 50-60A AND OVERCOME THE GERMANS IN THIS WAY WITH THEIR LANDER "TECHNOLOGY"! Very expensive! HK DESTROY THE COMPETITION!

and now the values i've got for this motor ...
all done in a wemotec mini 480 - 69/5-blade mounted in a
starmax F-18E
4s: 2200mAh 35C - 41A / 870gr
4400mAh 35C - 43A / 895gr
5s: 2200mAh 35C - 50A / 1200gr
for 4s its better to use a fan with more than 5 blades - good will be
one with 7 or 8 blades, then you may get approx. 50A - the max of
motors spec - it will then act nearly like the HKs EDF70 with 3300kv Motor (70-28XL-3300).
this offers 1030gr thrust with 50A. but i don't know where to get such a fan of good quality.
5s is out of spec .... i will use the motor not kill it ...
in the air this unit don't perform very well - with the het 2w-20 (3400kv) you will have much more thrust (1060gr/52A), more topspeed and a better sound ...
for me the het motors are the better choice for 70mm edf at this time ...

OK - your right - i'm wrong ... i tried it once again with some force and now the mounting ring was gliding into the wmotec housing ... it fits very well!
Don't tried it once again in the HET 6904 because its assambled in a modell.
With the E-Flite DF15 i'm still right - the housing is too small - but the WeMoTec will be the better choice - dynamicly balanced fan - the DF15 don't ...
Next days i will check the performance of this thing ...

Fits the Wemotec MINI 70mm fan just PERFECT! Its a snug fit, but you'd be amazed how nice the flush fitting is... No alteration is required, but when you push the face plate thru, you need to initially push it on an angle.
On 5s 4000mah:
74 amps steady
~1250 watts
19.XX volts
Temp after 30 secs: ~66 deg on surface.
Would be good for short bursts on 5s IMO.
Haven't measured thrust yet.

Great motor slots right in to my wemotec mini fan perfectly 50amps at 780 watts 60a speedy desire power 14.8v 45c lipo around 1.3kg of thrust

Bad - this thing won't fit the housing of an Wemotec Mini or HET 6904 nor an
e-flite DF-15 - the 29mm mounting ring will not go into the 28mm;
in fan housings for outrunner motors (like in Starmax planes or the Hype EDF),
the diameter will fit but the extended mount is not long enough ... so at this time
only one of my housings will fit - the cheap, cheap one that can be found in hk
(tian sheng) f-15, f-16 & hawk jets ....
not very usefull for me at this time ....
